Host for over 160 years - A house with history. A place with soul.
The Weisses Kreuz is more than just a hotel - it is a piece of Feldkirch history. Since 1852, guests have been welcomed here, stories have been shared and hospitality has been lived that has lasted for generations.
The story begins on August 27, 1852, when the Herburger family acquired the Weisses Kreuz inn, including the cidery, farm and vineyard. This established a tradition of hospitality that continues to this day - the oldest in the region that has remained in the hands of one family for over 160 years.
But the roots go back even further: over 220 years ago, there was already a "Schildwirtschaft" - a hostel for travelers, pilgrims and job seekers who found free accommodation here. The "White Cross" in the name was a reminder of this open, hospitable establishment.
Over the decades, the business has changed again and again: with its own bakery, weighbridge, petrol station, cidery and distillery, the Weisses Kreuz has always kept up with the times.
In September 2006, Marlene Hummer came to the hotel, later took over the management and finally the business in 2021 - the first change of ownership in over 160 years. A new chapter began with her: young, committed, with great respect for history and an eye to the future.
