The medieval old town of Feldkirch is considered to be the best preserved in Vorarlberg. At the foot of Schattenburg Castle, winding alleyways and arcades invite you to explore. Stone witnesses tell of an eventful past that can still be felt here. Worth seeing are the Gothic St. Nicholas Cathedral with its renovated altarpieces by Wolf Huber, the painted town hall, the Johanniterkirche church, Marktgasse and the music conservatory.

Animal and nature experience

The Feldkirch Wildlife Park offers a natural animal experience for families. Over 150 native animals live on around 10 hectares - including lynx, wolves, marmots, ibex and mouflons. Many are well camouflaged, which is why you sometimes need a second look. In addition, a forest nature trail with over 70 information boards invites visitors to make exciting discoveries about plants, animals and the cycle of nature.

Beguiling colors and fragrances

The flower island of Mainau is particularly easy to reach by boat. In addition to its famous gardens, the island of the Bernadotte family offers impressive avenues of trees, baroque architecture and Mediterranean flair. More than 1,200 varieties of roses in the Italian Rose Garden, the Butterfly House, the Palm House and St. Mary's Palace Church make Mainau a year-round experience.

The largest waterfall in Europe

The Rhine Falls near Schaffhausen is the largest waterfall in Europe and offers an impressive natural spectacle. Over 150 meters wide, the masses of water plunge 23 meters into the depths. The view from the Rhine Falls basin or on a boat trip to the middle rock is particularly impressive. Schloss Laufen offers further viewing platforms that lead close to the thundering water.

A Lake Constance town on the Bavarian shore

Lindau is a historic island town on the Bavarian shore of Lake Constance, connected to the mainland by a bridge and railroad embankment. A stroll along the harbor with a view of the Swiss mountains is particularly charming. The journey by boat takes you past the famous Bavarian Lion and offers the most beautiful view of the old town. Painted facades, half-timbered houses and a lively riverside promenade await you in the narrow streets.

The Silvretta High Alpine Road connects the Montafon with the Tyrolean Paznaun and is one of the most beautiful mountain roads in Austria. Over 25 kilometers, it offers impressive views of the Silvretta and the Vermunt and Silvretta reservoirs - an experience for guests with or without a vehicle.
