Lucerne at the Vierwaldstättersee
At the roots of Switzerland
The Vierwaldstättersee lays in the heart of Switzerland. Surrounded by the original cantons Uri, Schwyz and Nidwalden, the history of the Swiss Confederation is in the air. With an enchanting historic center, the wooden Kapellbrücke and the crying lion Lucerne is always worth a visit.
The Vierwaldstättersee is home to Europe's largest inland water transportation system. The alpine mountains build an incredible panoramic view and the worldwide densest system of mountain railways make it easy to climb the peaks.
From here you can not just visit Rigi and Pilatus, the two most famous peaks surrounding the lake, but also the home of Wilhelm Tell, the village Uri.
